Detail of the bogie connecting two of the 1937 LNER North Tyneside electric multiple unit cars at South Gosforth station in February 1964. The sliding doors will be noted. The photograph was taken at South Gosforth in February 1964. These units were to be phased out over the following three years, the last day of service being on 15 June 1967. The 18:15 from Newcastle Central, travelling to the Coast and back via Wallsend and Benton, was the last train.
