92224 is working a class D partially-fitted express freight through Southall in October 1961. This is a Riddles-designed BR Standard 9F. Built at Crewe in 1958, it entered BR service at 84C Banbury shed on 30 June and had a short working life of only just over 9 years, when it was withdrawn from 8B, Warrington Dallam shed during September 1967 and cut up during June 1968, 10 years
after entering service.
