6132 was built at Swindon Works in October 1935 to a design by C.B.Collett. A development of the 51XX Prairie Tank with increased boiler pressure and tractive effort, these class 4 locos were built for Paddington suburban passenger working. All 70 of these '6100s' worked in the London Division for about 25 years until they were then replaced by DMUs. This loco lasted in service for 33 years when it was withdrawn from 81F, Oxford shed in October of 1965 and scrapped during March of 1966. Although built for passenger workings out of Paddington when these services were dieselised, they could be found all over the ex GWR system. One has been preserved, 6106.
