A goods train is seen coming off the Brentford branch at Southall in October 1961. Simultaneously, on the main line the 13.15 Paddington - Hereford express is passing, with 4-6-0 7006 'Lydford Castle'. 9791 is a Collett designed 57XX Panier tank working a class J freight. Built in 1936 by the GWR at Swindon works, it entered service in May and had a service life well in excess of 27 years, when it was withdrawn from 81E, Didcot shed in January 1964 and scrapped two months later.
