A Carlisle train stands in the up platform with a Berwick train in the bay platform in August 1961. 60980 was one of the last 4 V2s built, entering service on 10.3.1944 at HAY, (64B) Haymarket shed. This Gresley 2-6-2 moved to St Margarets in March, 1951 from where it was withdrawn on 29.12.62 to be cut up by Campbells of Airdrie in January 1964. 78047 is about to depart from the other platform working a stopper, tender first. It was built in 1955 at Darlington, withdrawn on 30.9.66 from 64A, St Margarets and cut up in January 1967 by Shipbreaking Industries, Faslane.
