St Boswells station with 62208 working a class B northbound stopping passenger train in May 1950. The loco is an H.A.Ivatt-designed D1, 4-4-0. Built in May 1911 for the GNR at Doncaster, its first number was 57 and It passed to the LNER and was renumbered 3057 in 1924. Out of a class of 15 locos, it was one of 10 that made it to the LNER renumbering in 1946 when it received the number 2208 and then to BR becoming 62208. Withdrawn from 64G, Hawick on 31.7.1950 (3 months after this picture was taken), it was scrapped at Cowlairs works later that year.
