Staines West station in June 1977. By this time vegetation had invaded the tracks. The adjacent oil depot was still in use and was rail-connected until 1991, although after 1981 it was via a new spur from the Southern Region's Windsor & Eton Riverside line.

By 1987 the station building had been converted into an office, and the station canopy had been demolished. Two of the former canopy supports have been moved from the platform and repositioned on the trackbed next to the new car park, but the spandrels at the top of the supports have been rotated through 90 degrees. The adjacent rail-connected oil depot was still in use at this time. Compare with the 1977 picture above: the run-round loop has been lifted but the track has been cleared of vegetation and presumably serves as a siding for the oil depot.

By July 1998 the oil depot had closed, and all of the track had been lifted. The platform was probably in situ, obscured by the shrubs.

Staines West station in February 2012. Further redevelopment of the site took place c 2001. The back retaining wall of the platform is still in place. Note the short section of new track embedded in the car park as a 'feature'. The station concourse is still intact together with the short section of platform in front of the extension.

Staines West station in February 2012. This view shows the porch that was added when the station was converted into a railway station. The original house had a basement which was extended
under the new porch. The path to the right of the house was the access point into the goods yard.

Staines West station in February 2012. The single-storey buildings were not part of the original house and were added when the building was converted into a station. Although now rebuilt, the original platform did run round this side of the line from the concourse to give access to the buildings. From left to right this building housed the gents' toilet, porters' room and ladies’ waiting room.
