A southbound Class D express freight passing through Stobs station in 1960s. 61290 is a Thompson-designed B1. Built for the fledgling BR in February 1948 by North British Loco Co at Cowlairs works, it entered service at Darlington shed, 51A and was withdrawn from Carlisle Canal shed, 12B on 21.3.62 to be cut up at BR's Cowlairs works
