Station Name: STUBBINS

Looking north towards Stubbins station from the site of Stubbins Junction in August 2010. The Accrington and the Bacup lines diverged at this point. The red flowers (Rosebay Willowherb) mark the route that the Accrington line took. The platform to the left, the former northbound platform, did not extend to this point when the station was open. It has been extended across the trackbed of the Accrington line after closure, this line passed to the rear of the northbound platform. The former southbound platform, to the right, remained unaltered. It was always longer
than the northbound platform.
