A goods locomotive going to pick up a wagon from a siding at the west end of the station. Note the shunter with his pole hanging on to the footplate. He had the job of coupling together the wagons as they collided. 65575 was built at Stratford works to J Holdens J17 design in February 1906. This 0-6-0 was originally numbered 1225 by the GER then 8225 by the LNER in 1924. Renumbered again to 5575 in 1946, it received the 6 prefix in 1948. This loco had a back cab tender fitted specifically for working the Cambridge - Sudbury goods and Kings Lynn - Swaffham - Thetford goods duties where no turntables were available. Withdrawn from 31A Cambridge shed during February 1958 it was
scrapped a month later.
