Station Name: SUNDERLAND CENTRAL
Still open but included for completeness

The French Gothic clock tower of Sunderland station is seen in March 1961,
replete with tourelles and a spire. It rises above the tall pitched roof of the
booking hall. The awning is showing signs of neglect. The clean lines of the
modern booth in the foreground contrast markedly with the faded Victorian
splendour of the station.
