 Thornley branch before Thornley station opened. The blue arrow shows Thornley Junction, where the station would eventually be. The branch served a number of collieries, most of which had closed by 1900 leaving only Wheatley Hill, Thornley and Ludworth. Wheatley Hill is not shown. It opened in 1869 so the map must be earlier.
