Station Name: THORP ARCH

The south end of Thorp Arch goods shed in September 2010. Note the circular cut out in the boarded frieze to allow trains to pass under. The platform originally stopped short of the goods shed, but was extended beyond the shed in June 1941 to accommodate long workmen's trains during the construction of the Thorp Arch Royal Ordnance Factory.
