1963 1:2,500 OS map.The extensive facilities at Tweedmouth remain in 1963, but by this time the passenger station’s closure has been announced, and the few passenger trains that still call would cease to do so in June 1964. The ‘Goods Shed’ in now named – twice, as it is divided between adjacent OS sheets. ‘Station Cottages’ (the original Newcastle & Berwick Railway enginemen’s accommodation) are at last named on the map and numbered 5 to 16, and the later semidetached houses are numbered 3 and 4; all of these houses would disappear along with the passenger station a few years later. The Tweed Dock branch is still shown, but the branch to the saw mill is no more. Click here fror a larger version.
