Details of down platform lighting and signage beneath one of the ridges of the glazed ridge-and-furrow roof are seen on this view from June 1969. One might expect to see the BR(NE) vitreous enamel nameboard fixed to the back-wall, but owing to the great width of the platform it is
mounted on stanchions. The LNER ‘mint imperial’ electric lamp and 1930s-vintage nameplate are suspended from the roof.
