In this view of Tynemouth station’s concourse c1910 passengers and staff are thoughtfully arranged in the background leaving the circulating area empty so that the laurels in the half-barrels and other ornamental plants can be admired. Over many decades the station won awards for the excellence of its garden and floral displays.
