Looking south towards the site of Union Bank Farm Halt from the bridge at Union Bank Lane taken on the 18th January 1976. A class 40 locomotive, 40 047, hauls a diverted Liverpool to Newcastle train northwards towards St Helens. The rear two coaches are at the point where the halt had once stood. By this date it had been completely demolished and the former double track line had been singled.
