Uxbridge Vine Street Station Gallery 7:
February 1968 - July 2007


Uxbridge Vine Street station frontage in February 1968. The south end of the building which included the coal office of Rickett, Smith and Cockerell and a post box has been demolished and although the building appears is now in a very poor state the shop still appears to be trading. Burr & Gibbons Ltd was another coal merchant.

Uxbridge Vine Street station in February 1968. The island platform, canopy and station concournce were demolished in 1965 along with part of the station building. The booking office and waiting rooms survived at this time together with the stub of the side platform seen on the right.

The remaining north end of the Vine Street station building c1969. Burr & Gibbons coal office now appears to be closed as does the adjacent Maison Lucena ladies' hairdresser. One of two entrances to the goods yard is seen on the left; the yhard was sited on both sides of the passenger station.

Uxbridge Vine Street station buildings in March 1969. The building housed the booking office, waiting rooms and station offices. The building was demolished later that year.

Looking north at the site of Vine Street station in February 2001. The car park on the site of the station has now closed and it is now a building site for Hertz House seen below. The Charter Place office block seen in the distance is on the far side of Vine Street.

The site of Uxbridge Vine Street station in July 2005. The A4020 Hillingdon Road now runs thorugh the west side of the station, the road runs right through the site of the goods shed. The station is now largerly occupied by a large office block called Hertz House.

Hertz House now occupies the site of Vine Street station. The railings and hedge are on the site of the station frontage on Vine Street.
