 Looking west on 2 June 2016 at Whitworth Road Tunnel between the stations of Wardleworth and Shawclough & Healey on the former Facit Branch. In the foreground the sidings serving Bright’s Fieldhouse Mills used to branch off to the left; they fell out of use in the 1950s. Much of the trackbed of the former Facit Branch is now maintained as a footpath and cycle route, and on this warm, sunny morning several dog-walkers passed the author on the short stretch between Thrum Hall Lane crossing and Fieldhouse Road.
