 Looking north from a few yards north of Fieldhouse Road along the trackbed of the former Facit Branch on 2 June 2016. The wall of the old Fieldhouse Mills is seen to the left; behind the trees it curves left following the alignment of the railway. The mills were rail-served until the 1950s. On this warm, sunny day the route is providing a welcome ‘green corridor’ through the northern suburbs of Rochdale for quiet strolls, with or without dogs for company. Photo by Alan Young
