Looking north-east along Taylor Street in June 2016. The red-brick, stone-capped parapet on the left is of the bridge by which the road crossed the Facit Branch; this is the point where the double track was joined by a siding. The more distant brick parapet, beyond the iron railings, was of a bridge over the northern throat of the sidings on the up side of the Facit Branch. Taylor Street marks the southern end of an ‘off road’ footpath along the Facit Branch which stretches almost to Shawclough & Healey station. Further sections of the trackbed between Shawclough and Whitworth and between Facit and Bacup are also recreational paths.
