 Looking north from the former Taylor Street road bridge in June 2016. Part of the bridge parapet is in the foreground, and the ‘buttercup meadow’ beyond is the infilled railway cutting which stretches to Fieldhouse Road. The railway from Rochdale to Bacup (the Facit Branch) was double-track at this point, and the line that gave access to the six sidings on the up side of the Facit Branch ran parallel to the ‘through line’ within the cutting.
