Station Name: WARKWORTH

In early 2015 this southern wing of the station building at Warkworth was in use as self-catering holiday accommodation, advertised as the ‘Waiting Rooms’. The room behind the canted bay window is reputed to have been where the Duke of Northumberland and his guests waited for trains in the days before the grand station building was provided at Alnwick, close to his residence of Alnwick Castle, in 1887.
