One of the tramway tank engines is waiting to take a boat train back to Weymouth Junction in July 1950. This is a 1366 Class Pannier tank, designed by Collett and built by the GWR in February 1934. Only 6 of these locos were built with a low axle loading and short wheelbase, which was suitable for dockyards and also the Wenford Bridge china clay branch, where they displaced the popular but ageing Beattie Well Tanks.
