Disused Stations: Widnes South Station

Widnes South station at its eastern end looking east in 1982. The signalbox was Widnes No 1 and had recently closed. It controlled the junction which can still be seen although the tracks leading away towards St Helens had been lifted shortly before the picture was taken.
