A September 2009 view looking north at the remains of Widnes South station's road level building. The white painted wall was an inner wall of the station. The wall that has survived was part of the booking office. The archway of bricks is where the ticket issuing window once was. Passengers would have stood on the far side of the wall were a corridor led to a set of steps that in turn led up to the westbound platform. The building was demolished in the 1990s
