Station Name: WIGSTON GLEN PARVA

Looking east from the 'up' platform c. 1940s.  Glen Parva Junction signal box not only controls arrivals and departures, but also the double-track line on the right just beyond the bridge. This is the south curve (goods only) route installed by the Midland Railway in 1872, which joins the LNWR line with the Midland main line to London. Note the LMS ‘Hawkseye’ nameboard in the left foreground.
