The south-eastern end of Wolverhampton Low Level station looking north-west in the first decade of the Twentieth Century. A mixed goods train can be seen standing on the up through line whilst a tank engine waits on the down through line.

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 ‘Castle’ class locomotive number 5061 'Earl of Birkenhead' is seen at the bay platform that was situated on the down side of the line at the north-western end of the station in the mid-1950s. The locomotive was based at Shrewsbury depot at this time.
