A busy scene at Wolverhampton Low level station on 18 April 1962. Standing at the up platform is ex-GWR 4-6-0 'Castle' class locomotive number 5014 'Goodrich Castle'. Standing next to it on the up through line is ex-GWR 0-6-0 'Collett' locomotive number 2287.

On 17 November 1962 a crowd of admirers is seen at the north-western end of the down platform at Wolverhampton Low Level. The object of their admiration is an ex-GWR ‘King' class locomotive which was working a Birkenhead express.

At the north end of the Wolverhampton Low Level down platform at DMU is seen on a special working in the early 1960s.

A view looking south-east at the north-western end of Wolverhampton Low Level station in the Autumn of 1969. The track had been lifted at this end of the station to facilitate the construction of a parcels depot that opened in 1970.


A Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton Low Level service is seen at the latter station’s down platform in the autumn of 1969. This was the end of the line by this time as the track had been lifted at the north-western end of the station so that a parcels depot could be built.
