central21.jpg) Wrexham Central station c. early 1970s. A two car Derby built DMU stands at the only platform that was still in use at this time. The station had been reduced to a single platform unstaffed halt. British Rail would have preferred to have closed the station but it was popular with local people it was very close to the town centre.
