Photo by Nick Catford ![]() A 1973 photo says the station site is own by Hambledon Rural District Council but in July 1975 it's owned by Waverley District Council. In 1974 Hambledon Rural District was abolished and became part of the new borough of Waverley.
Photo by Nick Catford By May 1976 Baynards station had been sold and was now a private residence. It was clear the new owner was interested in old vehicle preservation. A London bus is seen on the up platform. RTW 185 (KLB915) entered service in 1949 at Putney Bridge garage on route 85. 1950-1952 she was at Tottenham garage, 1953-7 back at Putney Bridge, 1958-1961 at Willesdon, finishing public service at Bow in 1962. Between 1963 to 1970 she was a trainer, mostly based at Muswell Hill. She was purchased by Frazer Clayton of Baynards in 1971 and is regularly shown at bus rallies. It is assumed Frazer Clayton is still the station owner.Photo
