Looking southeast at Monsal Dale Station in 1976. The stone built northbound platform is clearly evident. The southbound platform had been of timber construction and had gone by this date. The wall behind the platform might be a high loading dock or just a retaining wall.

Looking southeast at Monsal Dale Station in June 1989. The Manchester direction platform which was made from stone was extant at that time and remains so today. The Derby direction platform had been constructed from timber and it was taken down after closure.
