Swan Village North signal box controlled the crossing over Swan Lane and the connection with Blacklake sidings. A Great Western Railway type 27c design opened circa 1914 fitted with a 21 lever Great Western Railway 3-bar vertical tappet frame, replacing a signal box dating from the 1870s. The signal box was closed on 17th December 1973.

Another 1970s view of the main building from the Birmingham bound platform. Note the original base of the Wolverhampton platform.

Photo by John Mann ![]() Despite closure only being a short while away the Birmingham platform, and its shelter, are in quite good order. The platform construction is to be noted with the original stonework with a brick extension having been blended in.
