A Derby Suburban DMU arrives, on 12 December 1963, with a Birmingham bound service with the photographer having caught the attention of a couple of the passengers. A Lambretta scooter stands on the platform with the Totems still displaying the Central suffix .

A Hawksworth 'Modified' Hall Class 4-6-0 Class No.7915 Mere Hall stands to the rear of the Wolverhampton platform during June 1964. The loco was allocated to Tyseley 84E at the time and had just over 12 months left in service being withdrawn during October 1965. The loco was scrapped locally at Cashmores of Great Bridge during January 1965.

Looking in the Birmingham direction during February 1966 as a Southern Region Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 locomotive heads in the Wolverhampton direction, probably with, the working from Bournemouth East.The station sidings are devoid of any traffic.

Looking at the Wolverhampton platform from the Birmingham platform during the 1960s, evidence of the stations decline can be seen in the peeling paintwork on the footbridge entrance. Note the BR 3 CAR stop notice attached to the footbridge.
