Looking east up the driveway that connected the Widnes South station down platform to Victoria Road on 23 October 2012. The stone setts that made up the drive can be seen under the grass. By 2013 the setts at this location had been removed.

In the early months of 2013 a Garston to Warrington Arpley train of empty car transporter wagons heads east through the derelict Widnes South station.

Demolition of the former 'Railway and Commercial Inn' during the early part of May 2013 exposed the northern side of Widnes South station for the first time since the 1880s. In this view looking south on
17 May 2013 the partially bricked up subway tunnel can be seen.

The Widnes South station booking hall seen on 22 May 2013. The subway that provided a link to the up' platform can be seen to the right. the bricked up doorway straight ahead led to the stairway that linked to the down platform. The booking office was to the right. The view is similar to that taken by Gordon Howarth in 1962 on the main page.
